Chocolate Eggnog Recipe

Ingredients needed for Chocolate Eggnog:

8 eggs
3 cups chocolate milk
2 cups milkĀ 

1 cup cream
1 cup Kahlua liqueur or strong coffee
1 cup dark rum

1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Preparation Instructions:

Combine the chocolate and white milk in a large pot and heat on medium. Do not allow the mixture to boil!

Beat together the eggs and brown sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is reasonably thick. When the milk gets hot, add about half of it into the egg and sugar mixture and mix well with a whisk.

Low Fat Eggnog Recipe

Ingredients for Low Fat Eggnog:

6 cups skin milk
1 cup egg substitutes (Egg Beaters for example)

2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp rum extract

Add to taste:
sugar or low calorie sweetener
nutmeg
ground cinnamon

Preparation Instructions:

Combine the egg substitute, milk and sugar or low calorie sweetener and
heat mixture in a medium pan on the stove, or in a bowl in the microwave. Stir constantly if you’re heating the mixture on the stove, stir about every minute if you’re using the microwave.

Heat the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture becomes slightly thick.

Traditional Eggnog Recipe

Ingredients to make Traditional Eggnog:

12 eggs, separated
6 cups milk
2 cups heavy cream

1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tbs ground nutmeg

Optional:

2 cups bourbon
3/4 cups brandy

Preparation Instructions:

Separate the egg yolks from the whites and place in separate bowls.
Combine egg yolks and sugar together in a large bowl and blend with a mixer for 10 minutes, or until the mixture is firm and the color of butter.

Add the brandy and bourbon and refrigerate. About 30 minutes before you want to serve the eggnog, remove it from the refrigerator and stir in the milk and nutmeg.
